Points system in americano and mexicano
Every match has a fixed number of points. The number of points per match is decided before starting the tournament. In a typical tournament the number of points per match is 16 or 32. Although many other values are valid too - for instance 31 if you want to avoid draws.
In a match with 16 points, players 1 and 2 from team A are facing players 3 and 4 from team B. Player 1 serves four times before player 3 from the opposite team serves four times, and so on. The result of the match could be anything from 16‑0 to 8‑8. If the result is 10‑6, players 1 and 2 from team A get 10 points, and players 3 and 4 from team B get 6 points.
All points you earn in every match count towards your individual score. The winner is the player with most points after all matches.
How to play padel americano?
In americano you are paired with a new teammate in each round. When you have played a match with every other player, you have also faced every opponent twice.
Americano is optimized for random matches and fairness. There is a fixed number of rounds and matches.
A final round is calculated based on the leaderboard. Number 1 and 4 from the leaderboard are paired against number 2 and 3. Number 5 and 8 are paired against 6 and 7, and so on.
The winner is the player with most points after all matches - including the final match.
How to play padel mexicano?
In mexicano you are paired with a new teammate in each round. However, you are not guaranteed to team up with every player and you are not guaranteed to play against every player.
